Character Details:
Seymour Krelbourn (Tenor / High Baritone, 20s - 30s)
Insecure, naive florist clerk. Sweet and well-meaning. Secretly in love with Audrey.
Audrey (Soprano, 20s - 30s)
Sweet, vulnerable, insecure version of a "dumb blond." Very bad self-image. Dreams of a "picket fence" life.
Mr. Mushnik (Baritone/Bass, 40s - 60s)
Owner of an East Side florist shop. Nasty at first, then obsequious.
Audrey II/Ensemble (Bass, age unimportant...could be male or female, depends on who's got the goods...LOL)
Voice of the big, scary plant. Motown-type sound.
Orin/Ensemble (Baritone/Bass, 20s - 30s)
A sadistic, pretty-boy dentist. Egotistical and chauvinistic. Looks like a greaser, thinks like an insurance salesman, and talks like a radio announcer.
Crystal, Ronnette, & Chiffon (Mezzo, 18-20s)
three teenage (traditionally African-American) street urchins who provide a running commentary on the action. Must be capable of holding harmonies.
Mrs. Luce/Ensemble (Mezzo, 30s-40s) The editor's wife.

Puppeteers for Audrey II (non singing) Must be in good shape and able to move in rhythm. A very exhasuting workout, but loads of fun for anyone interested.

The
Story: A down-and out skid row floral assistant becomes
an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with
a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon “Audrey II” grows into
an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers
him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite,
finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global
domination! One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all
time, this affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies has become
a household name.
Noises
Off
Auditions:
Sunday, April 18 and
Monday, April 19 from 7:00-9:00 pm
Production Dates: July 2-18, 2010
Seeking: 5M, 4W
Directed
by: Josh Batenhorst
The
Story: Called the funniest farce ever written, Noises
Off depicts the onstage and backstage antics of a fifth-rate
acting troupe touring in an awful sex farce called Nothing
On . The curtain opens on the dress rehearsal of the first
act of Nothing On the night before it opens and with
things not going well. The second act shows us what's happening
backstage during the first act of Nothing On, after the
show has been running a month. The third act takes us back to
the first act of Nothing On yet again, after two months
of touring. It is, deliciously so, a disaster.

Seeking: 2M, 3W: WANNA JUNE DUKE, perhaps in her 50's, was abandonded by her husband, Oiler, and is the mother of three grown children. She tends to look at life through romantic eyes; DOT, Wanna's eldest daughers, perhaps in her early 30's, is married to Jimmy Tyndall. Together they have a 14 year old son, Teddy; JEWELL, Wanna's middle child, perhaps in her mid 20's, is unmarried and a bit of a rebel seeking acceptance and affection; ROY BOY, Wanna's youngest child, perhaps in his early 20's, also unmarried, was a former football star; JIMMY TYNDALL, Dot's husband, perhaps in his early 30's, is seeking his identity; MISS BAILEY, Wanna's neighbor, is elderly. She would be near the same age as Wanna's parents, deceased. Over the years she has observed and participated in many varied aspects of living which leaves her with a somewhat bored yet cynical and wise observation of life around her.

The
Story: When the power goes out after a July storm in
a small town in the Florida panhandle, Wanna June Duke is determined
to enjoy a languid evening under the stars by the light of the
full moon. But her son Roy Boy picks up (literally) their persnickety
neighbor Miss Bailey and deposits her in a lawn chair in the yard;
her eldest daughter Dot arrives after leaving her husband; and
her younger daughter Jewel, fresh from a rendezvous at the river,
has secrets to spill. Like the river for which it is named, this
play meanders, revealing a family's history and the skeletons
in their closets that could finally tear them apart. Written by
local playwright and actor Waylon Wood.
