Volunteer Orientation Sessions

We hold Volunteer Orientation sessions for all other volunteer positions throughout the year. Sessions usually last about one hour. Sign up for which session you want to attend on the Volunteer Information Form above.

Usher training is done either as at the beginning of a season or at your first ushering shift.

Note: Asheville Community Theatre policy prohibits participation by anyone on any sex offender or sexual abuse registry to any activity sponsored by Asheville Community Theatre. The only exception is being a member of an audience of an event sponsored by ACT.

Jobs:

Director of Finance – Full Time – $52,000-$63,000

A full-time position with responsibility for all functions related to managing the financial and administrative operations of Asheville Community Theatre (ACT), which is a non-profit community theatre, while supporting the fulfillment of the theatre’s mission and vision. This position will report to the Board of Directors and will work with the Finance Committee, which is overseen by the ACT Board of Directors.

Front of House Staff

Event Management Staff is cross-trained at all three roles; House Management, Concessions, and Floating. You will fill one of these roles during performances. This part-time position is responsible for managing the front of house and concessions before, during, and after the show. Must be 18 or older in order to serve and sell alcohol.

Artistic Team & Teaching Artist Positions:

If you are interested in an artistic position (director, music director, choreographer, designer) for a future Mainstage or Tanglewood Youth Production Class show, please submit your information using the Artistic Team & Teaching Artist Portal. We look to hire people within the WNC region, and do not provide stipends for travel or lodging. Submissions will be processed on a rolling basis.

Productions in our 35below season are proposed by and produced by individuals from the WNC region. We are currently not accepting applications for 35below, as we are unsure when we will be able to reopen that space due to COVID-19. Please check the 35below page on our website for more information.
